"DO the Right Thing" thus far... How do I feel and what have I noticed?

While watching the movie “Do the Right Thing” by Spike Lee there have been many things that I have caught onto. Right from the beginning Mr. Senor Love Daddy, while on the radio speaking on this day that was “Hot as hell” had mentioned that “Todays color is Black”. Soon after we see a young man, Mookie, walk down the stairs of his home. Mookie is dressed in a Jackie Robinson jersey, Jordan sneaks and around his neck he sports a black power chain. I noticed that each piece mentioned was something very influential in their culture and had a lot of symbolic mean. I thought that is was very creative and impressive on how he chose to wear the color black.
Another things I came to realize was who and how the kids, Punchy and Ahmed chose to give their respect to. While they were playing in the water from the fire hydrant, Radio Raheem was on his way to crossing through their path. With just a look and no word, in an instant the two boys knew to block the water and let Radio Raheem and is box pass through. Untouched by the water, unlike Charlie. Charlie is a minor character who is seen driving in his car towards the same area that the boys are playing near the hydrant. When Charlie passes by he is seen yelling and demanding the boys keep his car from getting wet. As he pulls in closer in front of the hydrant the boys run away and proceed to get Charlie and his car soaked. I would so the when Radio Raheem passed through there was this unspoken mutual respect for one another, as opposed to Charlie. Who was rude and demanding.

Finally, I see that every man has an opinion about the next. In one scene we have Mookie, Pino. Stevie, Officer Long and the Korean clerk giving out some very hasty statements. I hear them calling each other derogatory and hateful terms. Calling one another names and slurs. They are showing you just how real and how raw the feelings are, bashing the next man for his own culture. This shows that anybody can think bad about you and have something negative to say. Even if it is not justified.
