Doing the Right Thing

      To many people doing the "Right Thing" can mean something different. When reading the script of "Doing the Right Thing" by Spike Lee, you see a few different examples and versions of people doing what they believe is the right thing. In the script we see "Da Mayor" do the right thing by jumping in front of a speeding car to save a little boy, Eddie's life. This situation could have gone many different ways. Da Mayor could have just sat and watched the car strike the young boy, but he didn't. He chose to put his life in the line of danger in order to save another. 

      Another example of doing the "Right Thing" would be the boycott held by "Buggin' Out" and Radio Raheem" wanted to have against "Sals Famous Pizzeria" They believed that they were sticking up for their community by demanding that they put a picture of a black person on a the wall full of white people. Though in the end it costed Radio Raheem his life and Sal, his pizzeria due to a mod that had started just outside. I feel that the script proves that people always try to do the right thing and stand for what they believe is right. Its mostly how you go about it and the actions you choose to make that counts.
